# Compare / Add Symbol

Use this feature to compare tokens like **BTC/USDC**, **ETH/USDC**, and **BNB/USDC** while trading perps on XTrade. It helps you spot trends, correlations, and which asset is outperforming all from a single chart.

## <mark style="color:green;">**How to Use Compare**</mark>

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### **Open any perp token’s chart**

<mark style="color:$info;">Navigate to the chart view of the token you already have selected</mark>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### C**lick the Compare / Add Symbol icon**

<mark style="color:$info;">You’ll find this in the top left of the chart (look for the “+”)</mark>

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### S**earch for another token to overlay**

<mark style="color:$info;">Type another perp pair and select it. You’ll see display options like:</mark>

* <mark style="color:green;">**Same % scale:**</mark> <mark style="color:$info;">Normalize both pairs to compare relative percentage movements</mark>
* <mark style="color:green;">**New price scale:**</mark> <mark style="color:$info;">View them with their actual prices but on separate vertical axes</mark>
* <mark style="color:green;">**New pane:**</mark> <mark style="color:$info;">Show the second chart in a separate pane below</mark>

{% hint style="success" %}
Use “**Same % scale**” if you want to compare relative gains/losses regardless of price
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### R**ead the chart in % mode**

<mark style="color:$info;">By default, the vertical axis switches to percentage scale. This makes it easier to compare relative performance like which token gained more over the past 1h, 4h, or 1D</mark>

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### R**emove or swap symbols anytime**

<mark style="color:$info;">To stop comparing, deselect the symbol. You can add a different one or go back to single-symbol view</mark>

{% endstep %}

{% endstep %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://xtrade.gitbook.io/docs/features-and-tools/compare-add-symbol.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
